I’m Phillip, a multi-disciplinary director based in the Bay Area, California. Here’s a little about me.

I like to tell stories—stories about human connection and our connection to the natural world. Stories of resilience, where tough people overcome hardship and emerge stronger on the other side. And stories about identity, that challenge our perceptions and inspire us to see things from a new perspective.

I endeavor to find the humanity in every scene and uncover moments of truth from actors and non-actors alike. My hope is that this makes my work resonant, uplifting and distinctive.

Other than story, sound and music are key ingredients in all of my work. I hold a degree from the Berklee College of Music which gives me a unique perspective that I bring to filmmaking. In the musical chapter of my career, I collaborated with many artists but most notably Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton) and Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (LaLa Land) on Dear Evan Hansen, which garnered multiple Grammy and Tony awards.
